Regular Season Rules

Peter Puck says

peter-puckWe’re out there for a game among friends. No slapshots (or fake slapshots) unless you’re wide open to the net. No checking or anything that would be a penalty. Move the puck, trust your teammates, and compete.

We’ve got plenty of full-time skaters. Let’s keep the pace fast and the shifts short. You’ll get an email each week with a reminder about our time. Reply if you won’t be there. If I know a lot will be missing, I’ll make a call up, but that will be a rare occurrence.

Icing is automatic and on your honor as are offsides. Puck in the netting is dead. When called, back off and leave the puck to the non-offending team.

Scoring and Standings

Each week two of the four teams will gang up to take on the other two. The team in white will typically have Mouse in goal, the second team wears black with Crusher in the net. We’ll keep score the best we can. Say the current score out loud after each goal. Let’s say week one the Buzzcocks and Diamond Daves beat the Whiskey Jacks and Million Bucks 5-4. That’s two points in the standings for Buzz’s team and two points for Dave’s team. A tie gives one point to each team.

Individual stats will not be kept during the regular season.

Rosters

Rosters were set by the commissioner to start the season. Our four captains are free to make deals to improve their rosters.

Positions listed on the rosters are for reference only. You are not committed to a position unless you are a goalie. The idea is to help everyone get to know who they are skating with and against.

Post-game Dryland

You are free to spend your time off as you please, but if we start before 9 pm, you are invited to a local establishment for a couple beers and maybe some food. If we start after 9 pm, there will be beverages in the parking lot. The official policy on parking lot beverages follows: Bring at least as many beverages as you consume over the course of the season.
